How to use proxy in FireFox
In today’s global browser scene, Google Chrome is the undisputed leader among the rest, taking over 66% of users under its wing, followed by the Safari browser with a mark of about 17%, while Mozilla Firefox has only 5%. In general, we can conclude that the rivalry in the browser market won the Google browser by a large margin in its favor and it is doubtful that any of the losing browsers will be able to improve their positions, but this is not at all the case. The market is a fickle thing, including the browser market.
You can react in different ways to the statistics, but it would be just a big mistake not to take into account something. This article is about proxies in the Mozilla FireFox browser, which means we’ll talk about the strengths and configuration methods.
The author of this article uses multiple browsers. Since I myself am from the CIS segment, I also use Yandex/Opera/Google/FireFox browsers. Each has its own range of tasks for work, entertainment, storage of various data. My browser pool hasn’t changed in over 5 years, so it’s easy for me to characterize. Personally, my opinion on the strengths of FireFox, after 5+ years of use:

How to set up a proxy in Firefox
Let’s start with a simple and important step: we should remove all the data collected by Mozilla, of course, we are talking about Cookies, the history of the sites you visited and stuff like that.
We open the browser, on top there is a button to open the context menu, from there we go to the “Library” section.
From the library, go to the “Journal” tab menu.
We demolish the history of the Journal, using the appropriate button.
In the opened “Delete all history” window. In the field “Delete:” set the period “All”. We also check the boxes in all items and click “Delete now”.
All old data deleted, great. It’s time to move on to the direct proxy settings in the browser. From the menu go to the “Settings” section
You can speed up the process of searching for a section with a proxy by entering the appropriate word in the search section.
In the context window «Connection settings» we need to open the «Proxy settings for Internet access» section. In this section, we pay attention and select the item “Manual proxy settings”. In each of the items, you need to check the box “Use this proxy server for all protocols”. Next, we need to enter the address and port data from the proxy server that you have chosen. Have you entered all the required information? Excellent. Press the «OK» button — all changes are saved.
As soon as the previous step is passed, we will be shown the proxy server authorization window. Enter the data that you have for the «Username» and «Password» tabs. In the case when authorization occurs by IP, then there will be no window, due to automatic authorization. Add a checkmark next to the «Save password in the password store» field, confirm with the «OK» button.
